No. But I will definitely add it to the list for next visit. I am sure we went past it, but didn’t know anything about it

Ok, so now that our screen braces will be here next week, how are we mounting our GPS’s to them?

I’m thinking of either putting it in a mill to machine a flat spot to drill and bolt a flat plate of aluminum to, or welding the flat plate.

I've purchased a Ram mount that will clamp around the 13mm crossbar.

The Fates have declared that I will be present on Friday, no riding trip. :(

I was hoping to just move the ram mount over but figured I would see when it got here and go from there. Need to get it done, and get my new tires on, Utah for a week May1. Also just got my recall notice and new manual today but I have not looked into it yet.

Need to figure out the picture posting thing...I got a voluntary emissions recall notice along with a new manual with some kind of updated emissions data. I’ll read up on it, I don’t think it is a big deal though as I don’t live in california. Bottom of the letter says “campaign #kh9”

Voluntary Emissions Recall to make the Great State of California happy, or something like that. My wife got one for her '17, I didn't get one for my '16. Something about some errors in omissions related maintenance, I haven't compared notes between the old users manual and the new one she just received yet.

As far as mounting the GPS. I already have mine mounted to the existing windshield bar, with the locking Touratech mount. I will simply move mine off that bar onto the new Camel one.

Got ours yesterday. They sure packed the boxes well, but I haven’t had the opportunity to do more than unwrap the boxes yet. That’s a project for the weekend :)

Unfortunately my post office profoundly sucks. They have returned to sender. Evidently box @@@@ is not good enough now. Need to have “PO” box@@@@ in the address, as explained to me at the post office today. Never heard of THAT before. Bummer.

Huge shout out to Cory and Camel ADV! They are sending me another brace before the old one gets back so I can get it on before a big ride next week. Best customer service ever.

Camel ADV, Outback Motortek and Blackdog Cycle Works are some of my favorite companies with great customer service.

Glad they took care of you so quickly!

Great customer service and a great product! I can now ride the local washboarded gravel roads without worrying about my GPS bouncing up and down, :)

My brace is in. It was straightforward and a little bit of a PIA getting the bolts in as described. I did not have to take the rubber baskets all the way off, just pull off the closest side and leave them in place. Product is bomber in all ways. As usual there is almost always a learning lesson for me, this one is that I am throwing out red loctite. When I originally got my cradle for my gps I used red to put the ram ball and the cradle base together. When I put the brace on and everything back together I realized the cable for the gps was in the outside of the brace when it needed to be on the inside. The choices were to take the brace off or take the ball off and fit the cradle through. I went for the cradle mount and After really hosing the screws on the cradle and getting it just loose enough to not work right I realized I had used red loctite. That precipitated drilling all four screws out and needing to go find more. Guess I should have been more careful putting in the brace, however I also should have used blue. Lol, live and learn.

I've heard that before about red loctite, never experienced it in the 30+ years I've been using it. Just a dab will do ya, just enough on the first 2 or 3 threads of a bolt to make them look red is typically enough, even then there's enough to transfer to a couple more bolts. Remember, it's an adhesive, heat will release it.
