Just bought my new 2017 AT (DCT), Dark Red Friday night after work. So far 75 miles, already ordered the TUSK? oil changed kit, with both filters, new crush rings, O rings and Honda OEM Oil.

Some observations so far: I have never owned a bike this heavy 500+ lbs., and this tall. I've owned dual sports this tall about 225 lbs., and I've owned heavy bikes, but not all in one package. It takes some getting use to for me.

For the most part, I really like the DCT (especially in S mode), except today, I was trying to turn on to a busy highway, from a steep off-camber, uphill gravel driveway, usually I would fan the clutch and rev the engine, but I am now trying to learn new behaviors. Well success, but a little scary.

I am looking forward to learning how to ride it, and after todays sweating it, my first mod will be crash bars. Next probably a power socket and heated grips.

I am glad to be here and appreciate all everyone's help.

Welcome to the group. Yes, crash bars are a good thing, because when this thing starts to go there’s little that can be done to stop it.

Welcome! I'm just got my new 2017 AT DCT in Red two weeks ago. I'm still getting used to the DCT, but it gets better when you start anticipating when it will shift. I don't like the D mode at all and I much prefer S2 over S1 (haven't tried S3 yet). When I was still getting used to the bike in tricky situations (e.g. lane splitting), I kept it in manual mode so I would always know what gear I was in.

    Have fun!
